Lyric Sheet + Storyboard

This is the storyboard and lyric sheet for Comp 3 that Jeremy and I composed. While the others gave suggestions and inputs on it.

REFLECTION:
Doing the storyboard was no longer a threat for me, as I've done this multiple times with other groups. However, I do need to improve my explanation and drawing skills for it, as right now, this is not enough for me. An additional task was also given to me, which is the lyric sheet. This was just a walk in the park, and it was so much easier than the storyboard, even though this was my first time. We probably would go off track a bit from the storyboard when shooting the Comp 3, which is not a problem, as the storyboard right now serves as the stem of the tree and eventually new ideas will branch out from it.

Location Scout and Risk assessment

This blog post was mainly composed by Kenneth Lee and Candr, while the other group members assisted them. Before we began shooting at our chosen location, we had to assess the risks and benefits of the area.

REFLECTION:
Even though this task was done by Candra and Kenneth, each of us in the group had to come up with one place, so we have more options in case a few of the locations are unavailable for us to shoot. Some of the locations mentioned may not be used or replaced by a new location, as we are still unsure of what our Comp 3 would look like. The problem we faced when doing this was finding a location that is going to be used in our shoot because we have a lack of knowledge of interesting places in our home island. The solution we did was to search for interesting places on Google for our shoot as we are looking for a dark gloomy isolated place.

Classwork: Technical Elements, Theories, etc.

This post shows what we have been learning for the whole media studies lesson. Made by Kenzo.

Classwork: by Kenzo Susanto

REFLECTION:
Doing this blog post was not as hard as we thought because I copied my previous classwork into the presentation; however, it was really time-consuming and caused a significant delay in my other task. I also misunderstood the assignment as I thought this was a group work classwork, not individual. But in the end, I eventually finished it during school on the last day of the week and was able to continue on my other task.

Moodboard

This is my team's moodboard, mainly made by Kenzo, with Jeremy assisting with the ideas.

Media Studies MoodBoard by Kenzo Susanto

The reason we chose this style of moodboard is that it shows people's loneliness in neon-lit places in each image. This matches our song themes of emotional fatigue and isolation from depression. We want to create a moodboard where the character is trying to find themselves and reconnect with reality. Our main chosen colour palette is deep blue because it represents loneliness, combined with soft, gloomy shadows, which adds the element of isolation. This lighting is also used in cinematic scenes and at high-level production music videos. One thing to avoid is using too much of this colour palette, as it can turn really dark and unappealing in human eyes.

REFLECTION:
I never did a moodboard on my previous project, and doing it for the first time teaches me new things in cinematography. I had difficulties in taking the first step; however, my teammate assisted me by giving a reference video on what the music video for Comp 3 would look like. From there, I was off the roof as I quickly understood what he wanted.

This is the progress of our editing for the music video. This blogpost is originally made by Jeremy. First Result: This is the result of me ...
